In 2024, rough weather forced a French Polynesia sailing to change course and visit the Marquesas Islands instead. Guests loved the unexpected adventure so much that Windstar turned the idea into a brand-new cruising experience.

Since then, there have been Mystery Cruises in Greece and the Caribbean, with upcoming one-of-a-kind voyages in Spain (2026) and Northern Europe and Japan (2027).
