What if you could step out of the screen and into the story?

You've watched the winding roads.
You've seen the rugged coastline.
You've laughed at the chaos, the friendships and the secrets.

Now imagine experiencing some of those places for yourself.

I've created a one-of-a-kind Ireland group journey inspired by Netflix's How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, combining some of Northern Ireland and Ireland's most iconic sights with lesser-known places connected to the series.

This itinerary is unique to my group.

It's not a standard Ireland tour with a few filming locations added on.

I've deliberately woven in places that take you beyond the usual tourist trail and into the landscapes and communities that helped bring the series to life.

FROM NETFLIX TO REAL LIFE

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast follows three lifelong friends whose lives take an unexpected turn after the death of an old friend.

Created by Lisa McGee, the brilliant mind behind Derry Girls, the series takes viewers on a darkly funny, wonderfully Irish journey through Belfast and beyond.

And here's the fun part...

Many of the places you see on screen are real places you can visit.

This trip lets us experience some of them.

THE BEST OF IRELAND - WITH A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA

Of course, we're going to see some of the places you'd expect on an Ireland itinerary.

DUBLIN

We'll begin in Dublin with an orientation tour, a private walking tour and a visit to historic Christchurch Cathedral.

Our private walking tour focuses on areas less travelled, giving us a different perspective on Ireland's capital.

BELFAST

Then it's north to Belfast for a city tour and a visit to Titanic Belfast, exploring the story of the world's most famous ship in the city where it was built.

But this is where our journey starts getting a little different...

STEP INTO THE WORLD OF THE SHOW

ARDGLASS

A picturesque fishing village on the County Down coast.

We'll explore Ardglass and visit Jordan's Castle, a beautifully preserved 15th-century fortified tower overlooking the harbour.

And there's a reason I've included this stop.

Ardglass was used as one of the real-life locations representing the fictional town of Knockdara in the series.

Suddenly, the show feels a little more real.

MURLOUGH BAY

Forget the crowds.

Murlough Bay is one of those places that makes you stop and say:

"How is this not on every Ireland itinerary?"

Tucked along Northern Ireland's dramatic north coast, this remote landscape offers sweeping views across the sea toward Rathlin Island and Scotland.

It's also one of the locations featured in How to Get to Heaven from Belfast—including a memorable encounter with the mysterious Booker.

And yes...

We're going there.

DERRY & THE PEACE BRIDGE

We'll continue to Derry-Londonderry, crossing the iconic Peace Bridge spanning the River Foyle.

The bridge itself has become a powerful symbol of connection between communities that were historically divided.

And for fans of Lisa McGee, there's another reason Derry feels familiar...

This is the world of Derry Girls—and another part of the story behind How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.

THE ROADS LESS TRAVELLED

One of my favourite things about this itinerary?

We're not simply checking boxes.

We're taking the scenic route.

We'll travel along Mamore Gap, a spectacular mountain pass through the Urris Hills of Donegal and one of the most dramatic drives along the Wild Atlantic Way.

We'll visit Donegal Castle.

We'll experience the wild Atlantic scenery of Slieve League Cliffs, rising dramatically above the ocean.

And we'll make our way to St. John's Point Lighthouse.

ST. JOHN'S POINT

This may be one of the most intriguing stops on the entire journey.

The striking lighthouse on County Down's coast is an isolated maritime landmark—and a filming location from How to Get to Heaven from Belfast.

It's also included in our itinerary.

So when you see it on screen...

you'll know exactly where it is.

☘️ AND THEN... HEAVEN?

Our final full day takes us to one of Ireland's most unforgettable landscapes:

THE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

Also known as the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail, this spectacular trail crosses one of Northern Ireland's largest expanses of blanket bog.

Whether you tackle the trail or simply take in the incredible surroundings, it's a fitting way to end a journey inspired by a show with Heaven right there in the title.

THIS ISN'T YOUR TYPICAL IRELAND TOUR

Yes, we'll see Belfast.

Yes, we'll visit Dublin.

Yes, we'll experience Titanic Belfast, historic castles, dramatic cliffs and beautiful Irish scenery.

But we're also going somewhere a little deeper.

We're following roads and visiting places that most traditional Ireland group tours simply don't include.

We're looking at Ireland through the lens of a television series—and then stepping beyond the screen to experience the real places for ourselves.

A little sightseeing.

A little set-jetting.

A lot of Ireland.
